The Century Club: commercial skimming

We spent a day skimming new plasterboard for the sports bar at the Century Club. The new dance floor and DJ area needed to be ready for a Saturday night, so the skim had to be done in time for the decorators to follow on. Commercial jobs like this are all about fitting around the venue's schedule.

Garage into a bedroom

Over a couple of days we converted a small garage into a bedroom for a customer. The walls and ceiling were boarded and plastered to give a smooth finish ready for painting, and the customer was happy with the outcome. Read more about garage conversion plastering.

Patch work repairs

A Saturday job patching damaged areas of plaster for a client. Small plaster repairs like this need feathering into the surrounding wall so the repair doesn't show once it's painted.

Wall skimming: before and after

This wall had been stripped back and was left with old adhesive ridges and patched plaster. We prepared the surface and finished it with a smooth skim coat. Blocked-up window: before, during and after

An old window opening on a staircase had been filled with blockwork. We boarded it flush with the surrounding wall, then plastered and feathered the edges into the old plaster so it blends in once painted. More on our plaster repairs in Maidstone.
